Expanding Access to Arts Education
Learning Through Creativity
Since 2007, Liberty School has welcomed elementary students from local Title 1 schools to Arts District Liberty Station for hands-on arts experiences led by professional teaching artists.
Through creative exploration, students build confidence, develop critical thinking skills, and discover new ways of learning.
By offering the program at no cost to students or their schools, Liberty School helps expand access to arts education and open pathways for future opportunity.
Why Arts Education Matters
Art builds more than creative skills, it builds confidence, collaboration, and critical thinking.
For many participants, Liberty School is their first opportunity to work directly with professional artists in a dynamic cultural environment. By offering the program at no cost to students or their schools, Liberty School helps reduce educational inequities and expand opportunity.
Who We Serve
Liberty School partners with local Title 1 schools to bring grades 1–5 students (ages 6–11) to Arts District Liberty Station for standards-based, multi-week arts sessions.
Students explore visual arts, music, dance, theater, writing, and more — building self-esteem, imagination, and a positive relationship with learning.
“Liberty Schools enhances students’ education and lives. The emphasis is on the whole child and the joy of learning.”
